Student Ministries at North Way

We’re all searching for answers, wanting to know who we are, why we’re here, and what this life is about. School: teachers, classes, clubs, grades. Home: family, activities, rules, expectations. Sports: teammates, practice, games, winning. Friends: everyone, no one, parties, girlfriends/boyfriends.

With so many different layers, and so many voices competing for attention, it’s hard to determine what this life really is about. We want to know if there is something that reaches deeper, that doesn’t expect or require things of us, that doesn’t hurt, that can really satisfy and fulfill. In our student ministry, our students find direction in the space provided to discover what is deep, real, satisfying, and fulfilling by encouraging a relationship with God.

It's back, the craziest dodge ball game you'll ever play - BLACK LIGHT DODGE BALL! ALL students, 6th - 12th, bring your friends.

Kidz Church Student Leader Team
Sunday, Sept. 13 during the 11:00am service in the Student Lounge
Sunday, Sept. 27 during the 11:00am service in the Student Lounge
We love our student leaders and want to make sure all of them are adequately prepared to lead our kiddos! To accomodate everyone that wants to serve, we are creating a Kidz Church Student Leader Team. All students 6th-12th grade that would like to serve in Kidz Ministry on the weekend are asked to attend one of the following trainings above.

Some topics we will cover:
  • Building confidence in leading PAC Time
  • Learn about all the serving areas open to students (classrooms, tech, greeting, etc.)
  • Learn the role of a student volunteer to ensure their safety and protection while serving
  • Have the opportunity to purchase a Kidz Student Leader t-shirt for $10
  • Learn how to schedule serving times on Planning Center
Parents please note:  As part of the new Kidz Student Leader Team, we will be encouraging students to attend church in addition to serving.  If a student wants to serve every week, they will need to serve one service and attend another. Otherwise, we will be implementing a twice a month schedule meaning that students will only be able to serve twice a month and will be strongly encouraged to attend church twice a month. There will be limited openings at each service and in each classroom, therefore committing to a schedule will ensure that your son/daughter is able to serve. Students will also take home a covenant to be reviewed with you and brought back signed.  Once the student attends the training, returns the covenant, and selects the dates they want to serve, they will be ready to start!

Sign up to attend by emailing Kara Meulstee (karam@northway.org) with your name and date of training you're attending.  Parents: Only students must attend this meeting.  Please do not feel obligated to stay.

*If you are on the Kidz Worship Team, you do not need to attend one of these Sunday trainings. You will receive this training during your September 16th KWT practice.
