    Connect

Connect to one another, whether it’s your first time attending our campus or you’re a fully engaged member of the church. At North Way Dormont, we desire to create community as we live and walk together to seek, find, and know the living God. Small Groups We believe strongly that one of the best ways to connect with one another, grow in your faith, and serve in and as the local church is to become part of a small group. For more information, click here or email Sandy Weiss. Membership Connect to the local church, its members, and its mission by exploring membership at North Way -- a church home where you can belong. For more information, click here or email Sandy Weiss.
  • Grow

    Grow

There are always opportunities to grow in your faith, whether you’re exploring Christianity or have been a Christian for years. Here are just some of the steps you can take at North Way Dormont to mature in faith as you follow the Lord on your own journey -- and prepare to help others on theirs. Baptism The act of water baptism is an important first step in your spiritual journey as an outward expression of the grace of God in the life of a believer. For more information, click here or email Sandy Weiss. Discipleship Simply put, discipleship is about learning how to be a disciple of Jesus -- and learning how to make disciples of Jesus. For more information, click here or email Sandy Weiss.
  • Serve

    Serve

Whether you’ve never volunteered before or are ready to serve in a leadership role, we are all called to serve meaningfully in and as the local church. If you’d like to serve, but aren’t sure where, we’d love to help! Please contact Sandy Weiss. Volunteer Opportunities Please consider serving our church family by volunteering in one of these areas: Community Care Use your unique skills to help others in the church and community, including making meals, cleaning, minor repairs, yardwork, transportation, childcare, and more. Hospitality Create a warm and welcome environment at the church by parking cars, greeting guests and members, providing baked goods, brewing coffee, collecting each week’s offering, and serving communion. Kidz Ministry Leave an imprint on the life of a child (Kidz Ministry is birth -- fifth grade) while creating a loving and safe environment, providing teaching and worship, and partnering with parents to equip them with tools to teach the virtues of Jesus at home. Outreach The Transformational Outreach Team aims to improve the desperate state of at-risk children locally, nationally and globally by mobilizing our church community to deliver practical resources and partner with established organizations and churches to carry out long-term solutions. Production Provide an excellent, distraction-free worship environment each week that frees people to focus on worship and meeting with the Lord through set design, lighting, slides, video, and sound. Student Ministry Minister to middle and high school students throughout the week by building relationships, leading small groups and intentionally investing into the lives of students. Worship Lead the community in worship each week by singing or playing an instrument.
  • Kidz

    Kidz

North Way Kidz Church is a dynamic and creative environment where kids from birth to 5th grade discover who Jesus is and learn how to apply biblical truth to their lives. • Students

    Students

Student Ministry | 4pm-5:30pm Sundays, Potomac Room North Way Students is a dynamic environment where middle and high school students (6-12th grade) are encouraged to experience, know and follow Jesus. Weekly Gatherings Our gatherings are filled with unpredictable fun, relevant teaching, and small group time -- all designed to help students understand how to make sense of the questions they face in life and to live out what they are learning. Beyond our gatherings, North Way students experience incredible events and retreats, and have the opportunity to serve in ministry during our weekend services. And because we believe in partnering with parents, we equip families with application tools and resources to keep the conversation going beyond our student gatherings. Ultimately, as a student nears graduation, we are working to help pack that student’s bag with all that they need to own their faith as they move into the next phase of their life. Student Ministry Short Term Trips Student Ministry short term trips focus on partnering both with churches and established organizations on a local, national, and global scale. A cross-cultural ministry trip, whether around the world or to a city here at home, has the potential to be truly life-changing. You will be able to experience God and grow in your relationship with Him as you are removed from your day-to-day activities and routines. You will develop a God-centered perspective, allowing you to see your life at home through a new lens. You will serve others and live out the faith principles taught in Scripture as you grow, develop, and are challenged to truly practice your faith. You will grow in your relationship with the Lord, your teammates and leaders, and those in the community you enter. For more information about Dormont’s Student Ministry, email John Reilly.

Message Series: "Age Old"

In an ever-changing world, things once considered essential often quickly become outdated. Who remembers coin-operated pay phones? VHS video rental stores? Paper maps? In a world of shifting ideas and innovations, it can feel like nothing ever remains the same. Are there things that indeed never change… is that possible, or are we dreaming? For three weeks we will journey back in time and revisit stories of raging floods, a courageous queen, and a boy with a slingshot. Together we will search for ideas and principles that never fail and at no time become outdated. Join us for a three week series, “Age Old," as we seek life-changing concepts in timeless Old Testament events. The series will be available on VHS or Beta--you can rent it at your neighborhood Blockbuster.

American Sign Language with Victoria Baker

In this 13 week course, come and explore American Deaf Culture and learn the basics of American Sign Language to include the alphabet, many vocabulary words, all about the difference between signing English, Total Communication and ASL (you mean there is a difference?). The instructor is a 1989 graduate of Gallaudet University’s Counseling program (Master of Arts). Victoria was part of the DPN (Deaf President Now protest which is included in Disability History and part of the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.) Come out and ask all of the questions you have always wanted to ask about Deafness and Sign Language……..one fun fact listed here as a teaser is: No - Sign Language is NOT universal. Each country has their own sign language system. You have to come to class to find out what is universal and how we know this is true! You will get a prize if you remember to ask this question on the first day of class. Click here to register
