  • Students

    Students

Student Ministry | 5pm – 7pm Sundays, Sewickley Valley Ministry Center North Way Students is a dynamic environment where middle and high school students (6-12th grade) are encouraged to experience, know and follow Jesus. Weekly Gatherings Our gatherings are filled with unpredictable fun, relevant teaching, and small group time – all designed to help students understand how to make sense of the questions they face in life and to live out what they are learning. Beyond our gatherings, North Way students experience incredible events and retreats, and have the opportunity to serve in ministry during our weekend services. And because we believe in partnering with parents, we equip families with application tools and resources to keep the conversation going beyond our student gatherings. Ultimately, as a student nears graduation, we are working to help pack that student’s bag with all that they need to own their faith as they move into the next phase of their life. Student Ministry Short Term Trips Student Ministry short term trips focus on partnering both with churches and established organizations on a local, national, and global scale. A cross-cultural ministry trip, whether around the world or to a city here at home, has the potential to be truly life-changing. You will be able to experience God and grow in your relationship with Him as you are removed from your day-to-day activities and routines. You will develop a God-centered perspective, allowing you to see your life at home through a new lens. You will serve others and live out the faith principles taught in Scripture as you grow, develop, and are challenged to truly practice your faith. You will grow in your relationship with the Lord, your teammates and leaders, and those in the community you enter. Connect with Sewickley Valley Student Ministries For more information about Sewickley Valley’s Student Ministry, email Brad Beggs.

Message Series: Mark - The Disciples

Study of the Gospel of Mark: The Disciples July 8 & 9 – July 29 & 30 | #nwMark Through miracles, the announcing of the Kingdom, and ransoming His life for us, The Gospel of Mark reveals that Jesus is the Christ. In addition to Jesus, the Gospel of Mark features three main groups of people: The Disciples, The Crowd, and The Religious Leaders. When the time came for Jesus to go to the cross the Religious Leaders arrested Him, the Crowds mocked Him, and the Disciples fled. In three distinctive teaching series throughout 2017, through the eyes of the Disciples, the Crowd, and the Religious Leaders, we will explore together the Gospel of Mark. We will find a little bit of “us” in each group! We will follow along as Jesus speaks directly to each group and find that in doing so speaks plainly to us. Join us and follow Jesus along the dusty trails, lakeside shores, and city streets through the pages of the Gospel of Mark. Journey alongside the religious leaders, the crowds, and the disciples as they hear from Jesus by subscribing to daily devotionals, reading plans of both the Gospel of Mark and the New Testament, as well as discussion questions for your small group to use throughout each of the three series. Text “NORTHWAY” to 42828 to subscribe.

Message Series: "This is Us"

August 5 & 6 – August 19 & 20 | #nwThisIsUs As believers, we are responsible to live in a way that makes Jesus attractive to the world. So, first let’s be honest; that feels impossible! In this series, “This Is Us,” we will talk about who North Way has been and where we are going. However, this is not a series about North Way; this is about “us.” How are we to make Jesus attractive in the places where we live, work, and play? We believe that we will find that it is not Jesus who is in need of a makeover ... it is “us.”

Imagine Conference

What does it really look like to love the people around me? What did Jesus mean when He said to care for the orphan, the widow and the sojourner? Who is my neighbor? And where do we even begin?

The Imagine Conference equips, educates and engages believers in the biblical call to care for the vulnerable, the lonely, the hurting and the at-risk people around them. During the two-day event, participants will hear powerful stories, compelling speakers, attend breakout sessions and meet other like-minded people interested in seeking justice and living out love in areas like mentoring, ministry to refugees, adoption and foster care, missions, human trafficking and embracing all life as made in the image of God.
Conference takes place November 10-11, 2017. Doors open at 6:00 pm .
