North Way's three-year capital campaign is comprised of a number of transformational projects designed to make a significant difference in our church, our community, our nation and our world.
North Way Oakland is the first tangible example of our community campus strategy, as well as a direct result of capital
campaign giving to date.
Launched on March 18, 2007, North Way Oakland is already a vibrant part of the community. Sunday service now brings more
than 200 worshippers, and attendance continues to grow. To learn more about this wonderful success story, visit the North
Way Oakland website at www.northwayoakland.org.
North Way has established a partnership with Pittsburgh Faison in Homewood through the District's Mentoring
Initiative: Learning and Mentoring Partnerships (LAMP). Over 160 mentors and support volunteers have impacted
the lives of hundreds of children in this ministry since its launch on May 1, 2006.
Our first two fellows recently completed a nine-month training program at North Way designed to teach emerging
leaders how to lead and impact others. We are pleased that one of these fellows - Amy Swaagman - has joined the
North Way Oakland staff. Click here to learn more about Amy.
Preliminary approval was recently given to establish an extension campus of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School right here at North Way. Check back soon for more details
North Way has always strived to confront disease, poverty, injustice, spiritual darkness and ignorance around the
world through global outreach. Through our capital campaign, we are expanding our long-standing commitment to global
humanitarian outreach, both directly and in partnership with other churches.
Check back here in the coming months to learn more about our plans.
North Way has joined others to bring life-saving health care to the impoverished children of rural Tiobet. As of
May 2007, this program has raised $630,000 towards the construction of a pediatric care facility and heart lab in
Tibet. The program has ensured that more than 14,000 children have been screened for heart ailments, with several
having received life-saving operations. And in the process, dozens of Tibetan children and their families have come
to know Christ.
Through your support of our capital campaign, we expect to raise the remaining funds necessary to make this facility
a reality.
