Beaver Valley Core Team Fall Event | Oct. 12, 2017
On Thursday, October 12 Beaver Valley staff and leaders hosted a Core Team event inside the still-under-construction facility which will become the newest campus of North Way Christian Community at 300 Brighton Avenue, Rochester.
The evening kicked off with some upbeat music filling the open lease space next to where the campus facility is located. People were welcomed in to sit as the event began with Campus Pastor, Chris White introducing staff & elders of Beaver Valley.
Lead Pastor, Scott Stevens from the Wexford Campus spoke to the crowd about this exact Beaver Valley location being a long-time dream for him and several others. He referenced Joshua & Caleb’s task from God to enter a land full of obstacles and even giants, but those men believed in the promises of God, applied the principles of God’s Word and counted on His presence to bring them through. We are following the example of the faithfulness of Joshua & Caleb and praying that God will choose to bless His people in ways that will extend for generations to come, by being a church that loves people where they live, work and play.
Kelsey Mercuri, Director of Guest Services from Wexford spoke the group about the importance and impact our Guest Services teams have as the first impression new guests receive from the parking lot, through the lobby and into the Worship Center. Guest Services includes teams for: Parking, Security, Greeter, Usher, and Hospitality. Beaver Valley has many serving positions available on these teams and it’s not too early to sign up to serve in these areas now, to begin as soon as Christmas Eve! For more info, contact Rebecca Fabritius at email@example.com.
Dave D’Angelo, Director of Family Matters from Wexford spoke to the group about how vital a great Kids ministry is to the success of the campus and helping our guests and regular attendees to feel safe & secure placing their children into our kids’ areas where they’ll receive fantastic age-appropriate lessons. Family Matters includes care for infants & toddlers, classes for Preschool through 5th grade and even Student Ministry up through 12th grade. Many serving roles are available in Beaver Valley to get this ministry ready to launch, beginning on Christmas Eve. If you feel called to serve with Kids or Students, please contact Rebecca Fabritius at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Other significant messages conveyed to the Core Team by Pastor Chris and Amy Smith, Worship Director, included the importance of getting connected to small groups this fall, even before we launch; the necessity for all of us to be inviting others to get engaged in this launch; and the value of the Core Team continuing to be committed to this cause and finding an area to serve.
Two important events coming up to take note:
THIS SATURDAY, October 21 from 9-11am inside the BV campus | We are having a Work Day to clean up the center lease space, which has been generously offered to us for use by the landlord. We’d like to bless him back by leaving that space in better condition than which we found it. No need to RSVP, please just show up with brooms, window cleaner, paper towels & trash bags.
Thursday, November 30 from 6:30-8pm inside the BV campus | This is the date of our next Core Team event, which will include a time of Worship, a Prayer Walk, Refreshments, Tour through the nearly-finished facility and time for Fellowship. We are anxiously anticipating this event being a powerful time together, as our last Core Team meeting and being so close to the completion of the campus. Please plan to join us and invite some friends to come along!
The event on 10/12 concluded with Prayer by Randy Blincow, Executive Pastor of North Way, then a guided Tour, outlined by Campus Manager, Rebecca Fabritius. Inside the Kids space and also while touring through Guest Services, participants were encouraged to ‘Fall into Serving’ by marking their name on a leaf and placing it on a tree, representing their commitment to being part of those teams who will branch out to leaf an impression on the kids & guests who will enter the doors of North Way Beaver Valley, beginning in just a couple months. 47 people that evening decided to say Yes to God in obedience to His call to serve. There are still many serving spots available. If you’d like to get connected into one of those or just learn more, please contact Rebecca Fabritius at email@example.com. We look forward to seeing our Core Team and many new faces at our upcoming events on 10/21 and 11/30.
