August 8, 2019 | Day 8

Yesterday the team traveled to Friendship Island with Haitian Creole Tours. This allowed for a period of rest, relaxation and reflection after an extremely hot and busy week of ministry in addition to supporting a local business started by a couple of EBAC graduates. The island is absolutely beautiful and the ride there on a Haitian “water taxi” is always an adventure. The team enjoyed a lunch of freshly caught lobster and crab before heading back to mainland and then to the New Roots Farm for a tour and snack of smoked chicken wings. They are driving economic development in their community in some really simple yet effective ways and the progress they’ve made in the last year was awesome to see in person.

August 7, 2019 | Day 7

We went to EBAC most of the day Wednesday. The day started with joining the students for their singing. They sing beautifully and this is always a treat. Afterwards the team spent several hours tutoring the students in English, math, and science. Later in the afternoon we went to pastor Jean Claude’s house to say goodbye to the kids and for a final game of soccer.
