Our weekend together includes fellowship with other moms on a similar journey, anointed worship, teaching to equip you for your journey, recreation activities, built in time for rest and five meals cooked for you! Customize Your Retreat Weekend Since this weekend is Created for You, we invite you to customize your retreat experience in any way you choose. If you need the encouragement and equipping of the teaching sessions and breakouts, attend them all. Or skip a session and take a nap. Get up early and go for a hike, or sleep in late. Want to leave the retreat center grounds, go ahead! There are nearby attractions you can explore. This weekend is for you. Make it exactly what you need. Main Speaker: Wendy Willard Wendy and her husband have been privileged to share their lives with a lot of different people over the past 20 years. They have two daughters by birth and also fostered 18 other kids. Then they started an adoption care ministry in Central America, to house and support families traveling to complete the adoption process in Nicaragua. At least 24 adopting families lived with the Willard’s, each for three to eight months at a time. They’ve also hosted international exchange students, missionaries, and whomever God else brings into their home. They love the adventure of following God wherever He leads. By day, Wendy is a product and marketing manager for a non-profit in California. In her free time, she encourages and coaches people about how to live their strengths for God’s glory. She is also a certified Trauma Competent Caregiver (Back2Back Ministries). Cost Cost: $175 includes two nights lodging, 5 meals, all activities, retreat materials, and access to an exclusive retreat Facebook group to begin building your community early and continue the support throughout the year. We hope you’ll be able to spend the entire weekend with us, should you need to modify the schedule in any way (leave early, arrive late, etc.) we understand, but we are unable to adjust the cost of the retreat. Using Post Adoption Funds to Pay for the Retreat If you are an adoptive family in PA, there are respite funds available to you. Respite doesn’t need to mean that your kids go away, it can mean you do. Contact SWAN at 1-800-585-7926 to register for services. You can choose the agency you want to work with, and begin the process to get the retreat paid for. More information is available here. Testimonials So well run, just amazing!
It had been a rough year. So much going on personally that I was left feeling alone and empty. The retreat was exactly what I needed. Being with others who understand the struggles and the time to just breathe, be still and let God speak to my heart is what I needed.
It was such a gift to be there and I am already excited to return next year!
I arrived on Friday feeling nervous that I wouldn’t know many people, and unsure of how much I would really benefit from it. When I left on Sunday, I had made so many new friends and connected with the other moms in a way that only God can orchestrate.
I feel like more than just an adoptive mama now, I feel like a human again.
A refreshing, inspiring, equipping weekend that I look forward to every year!
God used this weekend to refresh me in so many ways! I appreciated the authentic community of the moms and the unity among all of us.
