February 18, 2017 | Travel Day

After a very early start in Pittsburgh, we arrived in Honduras without incident. At the Houston airport, we met Sean, the representative from Buckner who will make up the fifth part of our team. In Honduras we were greeted at the airport by Mauricio and Lara, who are the Honduran Buckner employees. They got us to our hotel with 15 minutes to check in and then get ready for the evening We then went to power chicken for lunch. After eating, it was time to go worship with the believers at Iglesia de Gran Comision. The songs may have been in Spanish, but the worship was incredible. After watching the video board describe their upcoming conference on disciple-making, Pastor Alfonso Faraj (who enjoys the same low maintenance hairstyle as our own Pastor Kent) took the platform and preached from Hebrews 4, regarding the need to turn away from sin to draw closer to our Savior. Arriving back at the hotel after that we were all exhausted, so it was an early to bed evening. Tomorrow our plans include our welcome mission meeting with Mauricio, where he’ll explain what they would like us to help them accomplish this week, followed by services with Pastor Victor. After that, they tell us they have a surprise for us, so I’ll be sure to let you all in on that as soon as I can. Blessings from Honduras.
