January 21, 2018 | February Trip Preparations

We are just one month away from being in Haiti! A home of so many people that have captured the hearts of the entire team -- the ten who have been there before, and the five of us who are the newcomers. God is a God of restoration, and making something beautiful from ashes, and He has continued proving His faithfulness in all the amazing work that’s been going on down there via the ministries we’re partnering with. We are partnering with the Pittsburgh Kids Foundation and the three children’s homes that they have supported for years. Nestled on the edge of Cap Haitien, EBAC is the first orphanage PKF supported, run by Kathy and Alice since the 1980’s. The orphanage now supports over 100 children who attend school on the grounds. The second children’s home we’ll be at is called IDADEE. It was founded by young adults who grew up at EBAC and answered a call God put on their lives to build a new home that could save even more orphaned children. IDADEE now cares for thirty-two kids between the ages of 3 and 10. And last but certainly not least, we’ll be at the New Vision Children’s Home run by Pastor Jean Claude and his wife Monica where they care for 14 children. Jean Claude (also one of the founders of IDADEE), who grew up at EBAC, pastors two local churches that we’ll be spending time at with some teaching, fellowship and meals, and running some VBS activities for the kids there. You can find more information on the PKF’s deep investment into Haiti here.
