July 25, 2018 | Travel and Arrival Update

Day 1. I can’t believe it’s been 2 years. As I wait on my front porch for John again, I think about the anticipation I felt for the last trip. So many unknowns, so many questions. Where will we sleep? Who will we meet? How long will the flight really be. This time we have a new team. The same focus. The kids. All week people asked what we were going to be doing. “Delivering medicine, building something, repairing something”. I simply replied, “just loving on the kids.” That’s it. Simple as that. For Jesus said, “I tell you. The greatest commandment is to love one another. If you love one another, everyone will know that you are my disciple, if you love one another.” John 13:35. So that simply is our mission and my prayer. For God to open doors and opportunities to love one another. I pray that I am aware and pick up on those opportunities. Please bless the trip and give us flexibility, boldness, and humility. Praise God. We arrived safe with baggage and made all connecting flights with no issues. Seoul airport was beautiful. I was struck by the cleanliness and efficiency. The flights were long and were a challenge but that is half the battle of the trip. The team spirit is good. Trips like that have a knack of allowing teams to gel quickly as you battle through the 21 hours of flying. Seatmates share stories, we connect on jobs, kids, and life. Like everything on the trip there is a purpose. However menial and mundane they may seem.
