North Way Christian Community Church in Pittsburgh, PA

June 20, 2018 | Day Two Update

We met up early this morning and everyone shared stories about staying with their host families. Honestly, staying with host families always seems to be a highlight of these trips and this group did not disappoint. It’s a wonderful way to get to know the host culture during our visit. This morning we did a life map exercise to help us get to know each other a little better, then we set out into the city center of Tegucigalpa. We were dropped off in a main pedestrian area and we walked around and asked questions to the local residents to help to explore assets in the community. We learned a lot about the hopes and dreams of Honduras residents by spending time exploring the city center. Then we learned more about the history of Honduras at the Museum of National Identity. We ended the day by making index card castles out of our daily reflections. We’re with our host families again tonight, and then tomorrow we head out to the urban ministry that we’re partnered with called AFE. We’ll be getting to know some children and their families, working on some projects there, and then we’ll begin to prepare to take our group on a three day adventure with the local leaders at CCI. Looking forward to what God has in store for us tomorrow. The team is healthy and thriving so far. Thanks for your ongoing prayer support. -- Bryan
