June 26, 2018 | Final Day in Tegucigalpa

We had so much fun on our final full day in Honduras. We started the day with an hour of quiet time with the Lord and then coffee and an amazing breakfast where we shared stories about our adventures in the city from this past week. There were lots of laughs and lots of cries, even from team members who don’t cry very often. This week was extremely impactful in many different ways. The bottom line is, though, that God showed up in so many situations. The Holy Spirit was active here long before we arrived, and the Spirit’s work of transformation will continue long after we’re gone. But, while we were here in country partnering with indigenous leaders to participate in God’s redemptive mission, we got a first hand view of God at work in hard places. We experienced things that broke our hearts, and we saw many signs of hope where God was on the move in people’s lives. This afternoon we went to a city overlook where there is an amazing view of the entire metropolitan area of Tegucigalpa. We took some photos with our team, and we prayed over the city. This evening we reunited with our host families and interpreters for an incredible evening of food, fun, and sharing of memories from this week. This is honestly one of the most unified groups that I’ve ever been a part of. We ended our evening with a powerful time of worship in Spanish and English, and now everyone is just sitting together telling stories of the highlights of the trip. I praise God for what our North American team has learned from our Central American friends this week about faith, love, and life. And I’m thankful for all that our group contributed as well. Our team is preparing to leave in the morning, and we are sad to go but our hearts are full. Until next time, Honduras!
