June 30, 2018 | Light of Life Rescue Mission Service Project
The team recently engaged in a service project at Light of Life Rescue Mission, which provides a home for the homeless and food for the hungry in Pittsburgh’s North Side. A representative from the organization shared their mission and vision for how they plan to continue to impact the Pittsburgh region in years to come. The team worked in a former Pittsburgh Public School building that has been transformed into Light of Life’s donation center and assisted with sorting clothing, toiletries and other donations that are available for those in need at NO COST! Other team members cleared their back storage area by moving recently donated pieces of furniture, mattresses, and other larger items into the main hallway where they can be more prominently displayed. The team then spent time together discussing their reactions to the morning and doing some last minute planning for their trip to Haiti. The service project provided a chance for the team to get to know each other and learn to work together to serve God and their local community. It is almost GO time and everyone is getting excited!
